CLASSICAL GUITAR 1 An excellent introduction to the world of the acoustic guitar. The parts of the instrument are presented, along with right-hand playing techniques (supporting and open), finger symbolization, and everything necessary for an effective introduction. Through various exercises, students understand and execute basic aspects of melody and harmony. Regarding melody, the student delves into the reading of the first position of the instrument with single-voice pieces and exercises. The tonality of C and Am (A minor) is primarily worked on. CLASSICAL GUITAR 2 begins to develop different arpeggios. Melodies in the middle register are strengthened, and the student begins to study the instrument's low and high registers. Key signatures are introduced with a study of the key of G (G major). Both simple two-voice exercises and pieces, as well as duets where the melodic and harmonic work is shared, are performed in 4/4 and 3/4 time. CLASSICAL GUITAR 3 The course delves deeper into more complex rhythmic figures such as the dotted quarter note. Seventh chords are also studied. The repertoire expands beyond Classical music with the inclusion of modern harmony. In addition to the previously studied keys, the student begins to learn the key of D (D major), thus working on second position. 6/8 time is introduced, and a repertoire of greater difficulty and duration is consolidated. CLASSICAL GUITAR 4 In terms of harmony, diminished chords and inversions are practiced, developing the ability to generate adequate bass guidance through different harmonic progressions. Right-hand techniques such as strumming and figueta are addressed through pieces of Spanish folklore. Regarding the melodic aspect, the range of notes expands, promoting the reading and understanding of positions other than the conventional ones, such as the 9th. Regarding rhythm, time slurs are worked on and the study of sixteenth notes begins. More complex two-part solo pieces are also performed, and the repertoire acquires greater interpretive quality. CLASSICAL GUITAR 5 Sight-reading is strengthened, covering arpeggios and melodies with passing notes and flourishes. Techniques such as slide or glissando and ascending and descending slurs are introduced. The course begins with work in the keys of F (F major) and Dm (D minor), as well as the study of melodic minor scales and sixteenth-note arpeggios that improve the speed and precision of the right hand. It is common to find pieces where the rhythmic variety requires knowledge of all the rhythmic figures and techniques previously studied. The student learns the use of dynamics, and continues to improve aspects of expression and musicality. CLASSICAL GUITAR 6 A repertoire of medium-high difficulty is consolidated in a variety of styles such as Classical, Baroque, Romantic, and Folklore from different parts of the world where the guitar is a protagonist (for example, Brazil and Spain). With the previous work, students acquire and consolidate a basic but very functional modern harmony, allowing them to cover and execute most of the popular repertoire they propose. Keys with various accidentals are learned, such as E (E major). The study of the tremolo is introduced, and complex arpeggios are developed. Major, minor, and melodic minor scales are practiced in various keys, facilitating the creative understanding of melody and its relationship to chords. In the reference pieces, a wide variety of instrumental techniques are employed, and diverse rhythmic and harmonic possibilities are explored.

GUITAR ENCOUNTERS 1 The course begins with the study of basic playing techniques, such as bending, rolling, and basic uses of the pick. In parallel, the course includes chords, scales, rock guitar phrases, riffs, etudes, and various current repertoires. These activities will be carried out throughout the course. Additionally, students will learn both reading (traditional notation and slash notation) and improvisation through the segment called "challenge improvisation." GUITAR ENCOUNTERS 2 The course reviews previously studied playing techniques, and new ones are incorporated, such as different types of bends, hammering on, pulling off, slide, arpeggio, and brushing. To strengthen the challenge improvisation theme, students will work on different scales and their basic relationship with progressions. Chords are approached by degree of difficulty with binary rhythms. GUITAR ENCOUNTERS 3 The techniques learned are confirmed, and palm mute, vibrato, and harmonics are added. The course begins with work on triplets and shuffle rhythm in various progressions and styles. The concept of phrasing in scales is developed. GUITAR ENCOUNTERS 4 The course begins with the study of more advanced techniques such as tapping. More complex rhythmic patterns and how to connect melodic lines with the accompaniment of pieces are learned. GUITAR ENCOUNTERS 5 The course perfects harmonic and tapping techniques, adding some more difficult ones such as legato and different uses of the pick, among which sweep picking and economy picking stand out. The course delves into the use of various scales (major, minor, pentatonic, blues, modes, etc.). The study of types of accompaniment is strengthened. The course also begins with the analysis of pieces to improve the understanding of the scale-chord relationship and, consequently, consolidates improvisation. Work on writing on the staff is strengthened, with both recorded and original music, the latter through the development of arrangement and composition.

DRUMS 1 The student will learn the parts of the drum kit, as well as basic rhythmic values. The course begins with a study of basic playing techniques and both theoretical and rhythmic elements. Students will work with practical exercises to apply the theory and technique studied in the degree, mainly focused on rock and pop. At the same time, students will study current repertoires and compulsory pieces included in the textbooks. Previously studied playing techniques will be perfected, and new ones will be incorporated. Students will begin to work on more complex rhythmic figures and coordination exercises with these figures. More advanced techniques will be studied for styles such as rock and pop, as well as funk at a basic level. Students will begin to read new musical figures and symbols, as well as their application to the drum kit. DRUMS 2 Students will delve into sixteenth-note figures, as well as advanced techniques for using them in styles such as rock, pop, funk, and soul. The course focuses on the ternary rhythmic language, its component rhythmic figures, and the necessary techniques used to play some of its constituent styles, such as shuffle and blues. The course focuses on independence, coordination, and more advanced techniques for the styles already covered. From this point on, the course focuses on a variety of musical styles, such as funk, bossa nova, salsa, samba, Latin, reggae, jazz, and so on. This approach utilizes the musical resources developed in previous levels and incorporates new ones, such as the semi-open hi-hat and new rudiments. DRUMS 3 In this level, students have already acquired a very good level of reading, coordination, and independence. Thirty-second-note figures are studied, and rhythms such as the shuffle are explored in more depth. More advanced rhythmic concepts are studied within the styles of bossa nova, samba, Latin, jazz, and so on.
